Restringing Guitars

Learn the essential skill of restringing your guitar, ensuring it stays in top playing condition and sounds its best.

I started releasing experimental folk music under the name Vireo and toured the East Coast, performing everywhere from clubs and coffee shops to colleges and living rooms. Occasionally, I compose music for short films that fly under the radar. I also play electric guitar in the rock band Herbivore and occasionally play banjo for other projects. In 2022, I joined the Pittsburgh indie band String Machine—a group that has been featured in Stereogum, Pitchfork, and Paste Magazine—and I've had the opportunity to tour nationally with them.

Since 2018, I’ve been an instructor at School of Rock in Wexford. School of Rock is a performance-based music education program that combines individual lessons with group band rehearsals, allowing students to learn music in a fun, collaborative environment. Through this program, I’ve had the chance to help aspiring musicians of all ages develop their skills, confidence, and passion for music.

I believe that you don’t have to be the most technically proficient guitarist to exercise creativity and write songs. At the same time, you don’t need to be the most creative person to be a good musician. I love helping students identify their musical goals and guiding them on their journey to achieve those goals.

About Me

I started my musical journey in 2006 when I picked up the bass and soon found myself in my high school jazz band. A couple of years later, I co-founded The Winter Brave with two of my best friends. We mostly played small local shows, but in 2013, everything changed when Dave Grohl mentioned us in a Reddit AMA. Overnight, we gained a bunch of internet fans, and in the year that followed, we relocated to Boston, played SXSW, and even caught the attention of record executives. Unfortunately, as a young band with little social media presence, touring experience, or industry connections, our momentum fizzled out, and I eventually left the band.

After that, I moved back to Pittsburgh to dive into the DIY music scene and began practicing guitar.
